“Whoever is slow to anger is better than the mighty, and he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city.” (Proverbs 16:32)
Are you obsessed with work? Do you feel guilty when you find that you procrastinate essential things because of too much work? Does your family complain about your overworking? Are you often exhausted and irritable? Do your children complain about your never having time to play with them? Maybe you have lost your compass in life.
Many times, we mess up priorities when we give extreme importance to one thing at the expense of the rest. When we break the harmony God has established in our lives, we feel unhappy and frustrated. Work plays a vital role in our lives, but it is not all. The sign that we are acting wrongly is that we lose the peace. The key to a peaceful life is following God’s will and respect the order set in our life by him. If you feel disturbed and tired, and you are having trouble with setting priorities, prayer will prove helpful. Prayer works like a compass: it helps us to recover our position in life and marks our way. So in difficult and busy times, don’t forget to check the North Pole!
Dear Lord, help me get through this working day focused on your Kingdom and give me your peace.
